cruisin for a bruisin

hey! i just wanted to give all of you the heads up. things are sort of in a frenzy over here as i try to get things ready for ice-atlanta (now less than a month away...geez!). it's really hard for me to *pump* things out since for me, it's really about quantity over quality. so the only way for me to get ready for 'mass production' is to sit down and separate textiles out for bags and clothing appliques, and then work on each piece one-by-one. if i start too many projects at once, which i've tried and tried in the past, i eventually lose interest in a lot of them, which is sad! for ice-atlanta i'm going to be doing both the craft fair and the fashion show, so there's still lots to do. because of all this, the shop here at flapbags.net probably will not be updated til after 18 june.



here are a few pages from my moleskin. i often have a hard time putting my ideas onto paper, but i've tried to always have pen and paper with me, because i can be inspired by any number of things. these drawing are for the fashion show. i generally use vintage or reconstructed garments and apply intricate sequin or fabric appliques. i just found out yesterday that hope for a golden summer will be playing after the fashion show, which gives me even more to look forward to!

i'm also busy with paperwork and preparations for my big trip abroad. that's right...i don't think i've announed it here officially, but i will be leaving in september to get my master's at the university of leicester, england (just one hour north of london by train!). as for flap, i can't say what will happen. i will be busy with school and ambassadorial duties as part of my scholarship, but i definately can't go one year+ without gettin my craft-on! i've been looking for crafty uk peeps on craftster, and if you're in the leicester/london area, shoot me an email.
